Lightbulb Possible solution for the Guild Hall/sigil problem

I don't know if someone tought of that before, but here is my solution...

Let's say a Guild Hall is composed of two rooms :

-A guild would need buy a "PvE" sigil for a fixed sum from a marchant to get the PVE room.

-A guild would need to win a celestial sigil in the HoH to get the PVP room.


The first sigil your guild obtain would create the Guild Hall and the corresponding room. Obtaining the other sigil would create the second room.

Guild players wanting to do PvE could meet in the PvE room. Likely, Guild players wanting to do PvP could meet in the PvP room.

If this is implemented, A.NET doesn't need to allow trading of celestial sigil anymore. The PvP room would have to be won by hard PvP labor. Same for PvE room (gathering enough gold). That way, I think both PvP and PvE players would be happy.

What do you think ?

Too bad this sigil thing will probably never change and nobody important will take this and other good ideas to heart.

This is the best sigil remedy i've read so far (out of many), and I'd love to be proven wrong by game dev's who actually use one of the many great ideas to be born within this forum.

Actually, Bahamut, I've seen a couple of the suggestions from these boards become implemented, both over the Beta and the retail release, and devs do stop by here. Posting suggestions isn't a waste of time, they do sometimes get implemented.

Hmmm, not a half bad idea.

So you'rew saying PvE guilds could still get the coolness factor of the guildhall, without the somewhat larger PvP part?

Yet Another Possible Solution: The Hall of SUPERHeroes.

Create a second Hall of Heroes, but with a prerequisite: only players who have been part of a Hall of Heroes-winning party can enter. (Shouldn't be hard to add a "has_beaten_HOH" flag to characters from the server end. Alternatively, make possession of a Guild Hall the prereq.) Make the prizes appeal to vanity: trophies for the Guild Hall, a special glow for n hours, special weapons or armor with different aesthetics, unique dyes, things like that that won't imbalance the game but will make winners stand out. Make those items customized and non-tradable/sellable.

Purposes:
1) To provide somewhere other than the Tombs for guilds to experience Tombs-style 8v8 combat (or 8v8v8v8v8 etc. depending on the playfield).
2) To draw some of the better guilds away from running Tombs over and over, giving them somewhere else to fight with rewards that _they can't get anywhere else_...
3) ...which opens up the Tombs somewhat for the rest of the guilds out there. Some will still opt to rack up sigils (-> tons of gold) in the Tombs, of course, but if guilds + Halls are more easily available than ego-boosting prizes, I think a lot may go for the rarer loot.
